Grand Army,

a gritty teen drama, explores themes of sexism, racism, and economic uncertainty as it follows a group of teens navigating high school. One main character, Leila, experiences vivid, graphic, and violent daydreams that come to life through traditional 2D animation. To bring creator Katie Cappiello’s vision to life, a massive team of animators and artists, working in both 2D and 3D, achieved a visually unique look that heightened the stakes of Leila’s dreams. From epic battles to intimate character moments, “Grand Army” presented an exciting challenge for the Little Blackstone Team.
